Stop
Hunger Now!
On
October 16, 2008, the five clubs of Zone 3 came together under
the direction of Assistant Governor, Jeff Eldridge, to do something
about world hunger. Five
Rotary clubs from Yanceyville, Burlington, and Graham packaged
10,000 bags of family-sized (4 meals per bag), highly nutritious
meals that were boxed, crated, and trucked to Raleigh to be added
to a total of more than a quarter million meals.
Those
meals were then sent on by "Stop
Hunger Now" to "Reach International" who distributed
the food to Nairobi, Kenya, through an organization called Revival
for World Crusade.
This year, on October 18, 2009,
those same five clubs put together 12,000 bags of four meals
per bag. It has yet to be disclosed where in the world the meals
will be sent. It will be reported here when we are notified.
Great job, Area 3! And thanks,
Assistant Governor Jeff, for your leadership.

is a slideshow of the event.
